triangle tools

triangle tools. This brand stands for professional kitchen tools made in Germany. Since 1946, the family-owned company has been developing and producing high-quality kitchen tools for professional chefs and creative kitchen helpers for ambitious hobby chefs in the blade city of Solingen. Products from the triangle brand are characterized by high functionality and top quality. The in-house product development demonstrates a great sense for trends and tendencies in the food industry and combines innovative solutions with timeless design. This results in kitchen tools that work, provide real pleasure while working, and are extremely durable. Our conclusion: Truly Butch.

When it comes to materials used, triangle tools value local raw materials. The wood of the "Soul" series comes from regional orchards and forests. Handles made of cherry, plum, and walnut are perfect for use in the kitchen and impress with their noble appearance and pleasant feel. These handles are turned in the Sauerland region, finally processed in Solingen, and the functional parts made of stainless steel are also assembled here.

triangle tools are stable, solid, and durable, because professional chefs don't need frills. They need kitchen tools that work and help them quickly and reliably at work. They don't give up easily when it gets tough. They can easily handle a high workload of working hours, meaning they are extremely durable. Triangle kitchen tools meet these high demands. Therefore, they have been appreciated and loved in the gastronomy and restaurant kitchens around the world for decades.

From HILL to triangle

The history of the triangle brand dates back to 1946, when Erwin Hill founded the "Hill Metal Fabrication" in the knife city of Solingen. The family business produced so-called wheel snow cutters, and even then, sustainability was an important factor in production. Hill products are characterized by high functionality, very good, solid quality, and timeless design. These principles still shape the company's brand philosophy today.

In 1972, Peter Kelch, Erwin Hill's son-in-law, took over the business together with his wife Ursula. In the 1980s, products from Hill, such as chopping knives and grill skewers, were in high demand. The upswing enabled Hill Metallwaren GmbH to purchase a larger production facility on Friedenstraße in Solingen, where the company still has its headquarters today.

In 2005, Peter Kelch's daughter Christine joined the company's management. Under her leadership, the own brand "triangle" was created, which has stood for professional kitchen utensils "made in Germany" since its introduction. triangle tools focuses on product development based on the needs of professional and hobby chefs while following the trends of the food industry. This results in the brand's successful product strategy: it focuses on classics and basics such as peelers and ball formers while also introducing innovative kitchen tools such as the tasting spoon with tweezers for food art and carving or the ingenious aroma grater.

Made in Germany

The location of Solingen is very important to the company. triangle tools is proud of its origin and sees itself as part of a tradition-rich region that has been famous for its manufacturing skills and the quality of its products for centuries. Large parts of the triangle range are still produced in the blade city of Solingen.

Where production in Germany is not possible, triangle tools claims to be in close, long-term contact with its suppliers and, out of conviction, ensures that people and the environment are well taken care of within the production chain.

FSC® Seal
triangle was certified by FSC® in 2021. FSC® - Forest Stewardship Council® - stands for worldwide commitment to sustainable and socially responsible forestry and an international certification system. Where possible, triangle tools will now offer FSC®-certified woods.

Good design

From the first idea to the finished product, it is a long way. Each individual step from the design to the series maturity must be carried out with care so that products can be created that do exactly what they are intended for. This requires a lot of experience, know-how, and at the same time innovative and solution-oriented thinking. That is why triangle places great value on product development taking place in its own house in Solingen, in close dialogue with production.

A design principle of triangle states that the design of functional products should not be subject to short-lived fashion. "Form follows function", and this form should still be pleasing and perceived as aesthetic even after many years. Many of triangle's bestsellers do not show their age. Perhaps also because the brand develops its products together with renowned German designers and has already won many coveted design awards.

Collections & Handle Series

The products of triangle tools usually receive their series name from their respective handle variant. Example: The "Classic Wood" turner has a handle made of cherry wood and belongs to the collection of the same name.

PROFESSIONAL

The handle of the "Professional" series is made of PA plastic, a robust, glass fiber reinforced polyamide. It provides a secure grip when working and is designed for professional use. These products are dishwasher safe.

SPIRIT

The handles of the "Spirit" series used to be made of PP plastic. From 2021, almost all handles are made of a sustainable, plant-based plastic called GreenGrip®. The symmetrical handle shape is found in kitchen utensils and pallets, while the asymmetrical shape is used for knife handles. The modern, simple design and suitability for the dishwasher make the "Spirit" collection particularly appreciated in the gastronomy sector. GreenGrip® plastics are in no way inferior to the predecessor material PP in terms of food safety, feel, durability, and dishwasher suitability. Practical detail: The handles of the "Spirit" kitchen utensils have a small triangular recess at their end, making them easy to hang on wall rails.

MOOD

With “Mood”, the Solingen family business has developed a classic-contemporary series of kitchen helpers that are produced in German craftsmanship with a high demand for functionality, quality, and sustainability. For the “Mood” handles, cherry wood from regional orchards is used. Triangle thus supports sustainable forestry with short transport routes. These handles are turned in the Sauerland and then finally processed in Solingen, where they are also assembled with the functional parts made of stainless steel. The “Mood” series should be cleaned gently by hand.

SENSE

“Sense” is an elegant, modern series with handles made of German plum wood. The aesthetic handle shape not only looks good, but also fits well and securely in the hand due to its characteristic shape. “Sense” kitchen helpers are made in Solingen. The manufacturing process of these tools still consists to a large extent of manual work. “Sense” should be cleaned gently by hand.

SOUL

Aesthetes and purists will truly enjoy the triangle tools “Soul”. A “Soul” handle feels extremely pleasant, as if you were holding a noble hand-smoother instead of a kitchen helper. The short, wide shape of the handle is not only a distinctive feature, but also ensures optimal power transmission when working. All products in the “Soul” range are “made in Solingen”. The simple yet ergonomic design of the handles and the use of noble fruit and nut tree woods underline the value of this collection. German deciduous tree species such as plum, cherry, walnut, and ash are available to choose from. To preserve the beauty of these woods, gentle cleaning by hand is recommended.

1946

The “1946” series includes kitchen utensils that hobby and professional chefs constantly use. Due to their massive material thickness made of brushed 18/10 stainless steel, they are almost indestructible and can withstand even the high demands of the gastronomy industry. The “1946” cooking spoons and turners impress with timeless design and highest professionalism. They are ergonomically shaped, sauce ladles and soup ladles pour drip-free, and the skimmers are available with either fine or extra-large drainage holes. Thus, the “1946” collection represents the core values of the brand: quality, functionality, and sustainability. The name of the series is a tribute to the company founder Erwin Hill, who laid the foundation for triangle in 1946.

CARVER

As the series of carving knives represents a small special edition, it is listed last in our enumeration. The handles of the triangle Carver are made of a combination of high-quality polypropylene and grippy Santoprene (Softgrip). This material combination ensures a secure grip even with wet hands and enables ergonomic work.
