Skeppshult Walnut

Skeppshult »Walnut« - Cast Iron Pans with Walnut Wood Handle

Walnut wood has an exceptionally beautiful appearance and color. Its grain is characterized by a pronounced structure. It's no wonder that the Swedish cast iron experts chose walnut wood for the handles of this Skeppshult pan series. Wood also perfectly complements the archaic material of cast iron. Additionally, it acts as a heat insulator, making it ideal for pan handles as it does not conduct the pan's heat. However, items with wooden handles should not be used in the oven, as the oven heat would damage the wood. And it goes without saying that Skeppshult »Walnut« is also not suitable for open fire or the grill.

Anyone holding a Skeppshult pan for the first time will be surprised by its weight. Sure, cast iron is heavy, but Skeppshult pans are really heavy. Only with a large material thickness does cast iron develop its outstanding frying and cooking properties. As an additional support handle, the pans have a practical cast iron lip.

The pan bottoms of the Skeppshult items are slightly concave. This minimal precision-milled curvature is another quality feature: On the hot stove, the metal expands, and the pan stands flat and securely on the stove.
