Nesmuk Cutting Board XL with Juice Groove - Natural Oak End Grain

Just as outstanding as the knives are the Nesmuk cutting boards. The Nesmuk chopping and cutting board XL is 57 x 40 cm in size and 5 cm thick. The wood in this variant is untreated.

For the chopping & cutting boards, which are manufactured in a small workshop in southern Germany, only oak end-grain heartwood is used.

• - Oak wood, because this wood is naturally more resistant to bacteria due to its high tannin content.
• - End-grain, because it is only cut from above into the fiber bundles. This protects finely honed blades, and with proper care, the wood can even regenerate.
• - Heartwood, the center of the trunk cross-section, is the oldest and most valuable part of the trunk because cell growth is complete there, and almost no moisture can penetrate.

The individual strips are selected by hand (an absolute novelty) and joined together using wood welding to form a characteristic yet symmetrical, harmonious pattern. The fine surface sanding and the final treatment with natural linseed oil and beeswax make the surface resistant and give the cutting board a silky sheen.

The cutting board is equipped with a 1.5 cm wide juice groove, which is only worked into one long & cross side. This allows the smooth surface to easily scrape off the cut material, for example, directly onto a plate that fits easily into the extra-wide grip recesses. Screwed rubber feet on the underside ensure a perfect hold. Therefore, the Nesmuk cutting boards stand firm and slip-resistant on almost any work surface.
