Nesmuk Cutting Board L with Juice Groove - End Grain Oak Wood

Just as outstanding as the knives are the Nesmuk cutting boards. The Nesmuk chopping and cutting board L measures 43.5 x 30.5 cm and is 4 cm thick. The wood in this variant is natural.

The chopping & cutting boards, which are manufactured in a small factory in southern Germany, are made exclusively from oak end-grain heartwood.

• - Oak wood, because this wood is naturally more resistant to bacteria due to its high tannic acid content.
• - End grain, because only the top of the fiber bundles is cut. This protects finely sharpened blades and the wood can even regenerate with good care.
• - Heartwood, the center of the trunk cross-section and is the oldest and most valuable part of the trunk, because the cell growth there is completed and almost no moisture can penetrate.

The individual strips are hand-selected (an absolute novelty) and welded together by wood to form a characteristic yet symmetrical, harmonious pattern. The fine surface grinding and the final treatment with natural linseed oil and beeswax make the surface resistant and give the cutting board a silky shine.

The cutting board is equipped with a 1.5 cm wide juice groove, which has been incorporated on only one long & cross side. The smooth surface allows the cut material to be easily scraped off, for example directly onto a plate, which fits easily into the extra-wide handle recesses. Screwed rubber feet on the bottom ensure a perfect hold. Therefore, the Nesmuk cutting boards stand firm and non-slip on almost any work surface.
