KAI Seki Magoroku Composite
We have talked about tuning, haven't we? A few times, actually. And here we present to you truly tuned knives: The KAI Seki Magoroku Composite series.
The KAI Seki Magoroku Composite Blade
The blades of the Seki Magoroku Composite incorporate two types of steel. The high-gloss polished, double-edged blade is made of VG-10 steel with a hardness of 61 HRC, and the satin-finished blade back is made of SUS420J2 steel. The composition of the two types of steel is based on a new technology from aircraft construction and combines very high strength with extreme precision. Both types of steel are joined using copper soldering. This irregular solder joint remains visible on the blade as a special detail and creates an exciting contrast.
Ergonomically Shaped Handle Made of Light Pakka Wood
Between the blade and the handle, there is a beveled bolster made of stainless steel. This allows the knives to be used perfectly with an overhand grip. The handle is made of light pakka wood and forms a successful conclusion to the knife, not least thanks to the tapered handle end. The handle encloses a full tang, which ensures balance and stability. The tang is visible at the end of the handle, the so-called bolster.
Six Blade Shapes
Although the series includes only six different blade shapes, they actually leave nothing to be desired. The most important knives are available, and almost all cutting tasks can be performed with the knives.
Dynamic Appearance
The knives appear dynamic, and they feel the same in the hand. They practically shout "Cut with me!" One cannot shake the impression that cutting goes faster than with conventional knives. We didn't time it, it's probably just an illusion. But these knives definitely provide a good feeling.
Our Conclusion
The knives of the Seki Magoroku Composite series are a real highlight both visually and in terms of application. It is a great pleasure to cut with them, and the performance is impressive. For us, a clear hidden champion!
