KAI Seki Magoroku Composite
We've talked about tuning before, haven't we? A few times, actually. And now we present to you some truly tuned knives: The Kai Seki Magoroku Composite series.
The blades of the Seki Magoroku Composite feature two types of steel. The high-gloss polished, double-edged cutting edge is made of VG-10 steel with a hardness of 61 HRC, while the satin-finished back of the blade is made of SUS420J2 steel. The composition of the two types of steel is based on a new technology from the aviation industry, combining high strength with extreme precision. Both types of steel are joined by copper brazing. This irregular brazing point remains visible on the blade as a special detail, creating an exciting contrast.
The handle is made of light-colored Pakka wood and provides a perfect finish to the knife, not least thanks to the tapered end of the handle.
The knives look dynamic and feel just as precise in the hand. You can't help but feel like cutting is faster and easier than with conventional knives. We didn't time it, so it's probably just our imagination. But it still feels good.
Although the series only includes eight different blade shapes, they leave nothing to be desired. There's a suitable knife for every purpose.
The knives of the Seki Magoroku Composite series are an absolute highlight in terms of appearance and application, and have quickly become one of our favorites.
Sechs Klingenformen
Zwar beinhaltet die Serie nur sechs verschiedene Klingenformen, die aber eigentlich eigentlich keine Wünsche offen lassen. Die wichtigsten Messer sind vorhanden und fast alle Schneidarbeiten lassen sich mit den Messern ausführen.
Dynamische Optik
Die Messer wirken dynamisch und genau so liegen sie auch in der Hand. Sie rufen förmlich "Schneid mit mir!". Man wird den Eindruck nicht los, dass das Schneiden schneller von der Hand geht als mit herkömmlichen Messern. Gestoppt haben wir die Zeiten nicht, es ist wohl eher Einbildung. Aber ein gutes Gefühl bescheren diese Messer auf jeden Fall.
Unser Fazit
Die Messer der Seki Magoroku Composite Serie sind optisch und anwendungstechnisch ein echtes Highlight. Es bereitet viel Vergnügen mit ihnen zu schneiden und die Perfomance ist eindrucksvoll. Für uns ein klarer Hidden Champion!
