Details

Nothing, absolutely nothing is more important than a proper chef's knife. No matter what requirements may come, with a chef's knife you can tackle almost any cutting task. Admittedly: sometimes very easily, sometimes more difficult, and sometimes very complicated. In the end, however, it somehow works with the chef's knife. Because a good chef's knife is MacGyver and Chuck Norris in one tool.

The small Alpha Barrel Oak chef's knife has a wide and 16 cm long blade made of stainless and hand-sharpened chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel. The blade is rigid and slightly rounded towards the tip. This allows cutting material to be processed easily and precisely using the rocking technique. The chef's knife is suitable for almost 90% of all cutting tasks.

Güde knives are hand-forged from a single piece of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, from the tip of the blade to the double bolster. The double bolster, a special feature of Güde knives, acts as a counterweight to the blade. The knife is perfectly balanced. The special mixture of the steel and the elaborate manufacturing process with over 30 manual steps give the stainless blades with a hardness of about 58 HRC a special robustness and longevity.

The finely polished handle scales made from oak wood of wine barrels over 80 years old, called staves, are embedded in the steel and triple-riveted. Due to the long maturation, the coarsely structured wood is extremely hard and almost indestructible. The Alpha Barrel Oak series was created in collaboration with star chef Harald Rüssel and his wife Ruth. Harald Rüssel's signature can be found as a laser engraving on each blade.
