de Buyer Milady

de Buyer Milady

No, the Milady de Buyer series is not exclusively created for women, even though the name might suggest it. The cookware will delight both the gentlemen of creation and the true heroes in the kitchen: the ladies who stand in the kitchen day in and day out, pampering us with their culinary skills. At this point, a heartfelt "Thank You" for that.

The "Grande Dame" of de Buyer

The name Milady is a homage to Milady Odette de Buyer Mineure. The strong woman behind a strong man, who significantly guided de Buyer's fortunes during the Second World War. Her passion for cooking and demands on cookware still serve as a benchmark and inspiration in the house of de Buyer today. We find that exciting and didn't want to withhold it from you.

Stainless Steel Body

Enough about the background, now let's get to the details. The body of the Milady de Buyer series is made of 0.6 – 0.8 mm thick stainless steel, matte on the inside and polished to a high gloss on the outside. The material thickness gives the cookware extraordinary robustness and prevents deformation. Each product is equipped with a pouring rim that ensures easy and (almost always) drip-free pouring of liquids.

Excellent Heat Conduction Thanks to 7 mm Thick Sandwich Base

In terms of heating and heat conduction, the cookware is top-notch. The 7 mm thick sandwich base made of pure aluminum ensures quick and high heating. Thanks to the magnetic base plate, the cookware is also a perfect choice for induction stoves.

Stainless Steel Cast Handles in a New Design

The riveted stick and handle grips made of stainless steel cast are the grips now used in almost all cookware series by de Buyer. Thanks to the ergonomic shaping, all handles can be gripped securely and comfortably. Heating of the stick handles occurs only very close to the body. You can easily see how far forward you can grip the handle by the indentations on the underside. The handle grips are generously sized and only heat up slightly. In our opinion (and we are a bit meme-like in this regard), you can take and move the pots from the stove without fear of hot handles.

Stylish Glass Lids with Stainless Steel Knob

The accompanying lids are also very beautiful and stylish. Made of safety glass set in a stainless steel ring and equipped with a steam outlet, they allow you to look inside the pot. The screwed lid knob is made of stainless steel and is also adorned with the de Buyer logo. The lids are universally applicable and fit all cookware with an identical diameter.

Small but Fine Range

The range is manageable with ten items, yet completely sufficient. You can choose between four saucepans with diameters from 14 to 20 cm. For the casserole pots, sizes from 20 to 28 cm in diameter are available. Additionally, there are two high pans with 24 and 28 cm and a conical sauté pan with a 24 cm diameter. Perfect!

De Buyer could not have honored the Grande Dame better; she would have truly been proud of it. And once again, we are very impressed.
